Firstly, thank you to the many that have requested to be “in the sale” and sorry
we couldn’t accommodate all of you. We have to use geographical locales as well
as market demand as to the type of Simmentals when deciding “who’s in” and of
course loyalty to those that have been involved. In that, last year’s sale we saw the
Virginia Ranch bulls debut at “Spectrum” adding to the Fullblood void that was left
when the attractive Smith Simmentals program exited the event upon the sale of
their cowherd. Keeping with that thought and “buyer awareness” we have invited
Wolfe Fleckvieh Simmental to join and once again add more infrastructure to the
Fullblood sector at “Spectrum”. Of course the concentrations of high quality Red
Simmental and Black Simmental are always as good as you will find anywhere in
Canada. The Red Simmental and Black Simmental bulls sold through Bull Spectrum
have historically been well valued investments for their new owners.
It’s always hard not to see the similarities of Bull Spectrum to the highly successful
“Top Guns” and “Lucky” Simmental bull sales of the past for more reasons than just
the components that exist as sellers in the event. This isn’t a surprise as from the
very first preliminary meetings that Jim Smith and I had to start this sale, “Top Guns”
was used as the prototype. After Jim and I had a “short list” made of who would be
considered and I made the invitational phone calls (of which all accepted) a few
meetings were held (most of which I couldn’t attend) to have some constructive
input from all involved. Great ideas came out of these gatherings including the sale
name and the “trailer for a year” idea to name a couple. Now, present day, other
than the comparable sellers, VERY comparable buyers exist from the now defunct
“Top Guns” and “Lucky” sales as to the modern editions of “Spectrum”. Fortunately,
good coaching paid off! Much like “Top Guns” sales of the past, the preferential
place for so many of our good friends in the well operated Hutterite colonies of
Alberta to buy their bulls is the “Spectrum”. We thank these great agricultural people
for their continued support of Transcon managed bull sales. Many loyal Central
Alberta ranchers that we have seen over the years also stay on top of their game
by sourcing bulls at the “Spectrum”. Thank you again.
Sales Management Comments
Not only the quality and value of the bulls selling is reason enough for buying ALL
of your bulls here but the added bonus’s of volume discounts, sale credit “draws”,
a BBQ steak lunch and the chance to have a free stock trailer for a year only “ice
the cake”.
Bulls are always available for viewing ahead of time at their respective farms but
will be ready for display (some sorting, weighing or tagging may be happening) on
Sunday and Monday prior to the Tuesday sale at the Innisfail Auction Mart. You
are welcome to stop by and have a preview.
I am very proud to have been instrumental to the creation, development and
success of Bull Spectrum. I consider all of the primaries good friends in the
business and can confidently say I have intimate knowledge of their programs
and would be more than happy to discuss them with you. We have always
